Welcome to the Crow's Cookbook

A look into the Sinisi family's food tips and tricks; beloved recipes; reducing food waste; as well as creating a platform to share our community's ideas!

Welcome all! We're excited to have you here. Before we get started, I'd like to (re)introduce ourselves. Old Crow Ranch is a first generation, pasture-based livestock farm, based in Durham, Maine. We raise non-GMO pork and grass-fed beef in a regenerative fashion, with the intention always to "leave it better". Farmer Steve bought this land in 2008, and with the generous support from the “Land for Maine’s Future” program and an agricultural easement monitored by Royal River Conservation Trust, Old Crow Ranch is a designated “Forever Farm” and will remain farmland in perpetuity.

We believe food is love, that is why we are committed to producing only the best meat possible. We also try to eat as sustainably and locally as possible, and 80% of what we eat is grown, cooked and preserved right on our land. We cherish sharing this gift and creating lasting relationships with our customers, that is why we started our Farm Store and created hosting opportunities with the Crow's Nest Tiny Home and events like the Potluck Pig Roast, Open Farm Day, and Date with a Farmer.

While we cook and make almost all of our meals, snacks, desserts and drinks, we have not been able to share this information with you to the extent we'd like to. That is why we're creating this food, cooking, farming, etc. "blog". Our hope here is to share tips, tricks and knowledge that our family uses in our day-to-day lives. We're also planning a community participation aspect where you all can send in your favorite recipes and food tips and we can all learn from each other! Our goal is to post on here as regularly as possible, but as always, it needs to flow and change with our family needs.

We're looking forward to this new journey together, and can't wait to start sharing all things food with you!

If you have any of your own food tips, tricks, or recipes and would like to share them, please feel free to message us on Facebook, Instagram, or by email (oldcrowranch@gmail.com)
